Julesburg Junior High students participated in the Northeast Colorado Junior High School Mathematics and Science Contest in Sterling on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. After their testing sessions they enjoyed a delicious meal at the NJC cafeteria.

Students in Family and Consumer Science are cutting fabric to make pillow covers.

These juniors are on it in Life Skills!! The conversations and collaboration around insurance and retirement are on point. The additional topics they discussed and quizzed one another on included: life insurance, social security, health and disability insurance. So proud of how eager this class is to share and learn with one another.

Let's GO!!!!

For the end of unit assessment for Social Studies, third graders did an Escape Room. They had to locate and solve clues (assessment) to get codes to unlock the team chest and eventually the key chest to escape.

And...just a few more basketball shooters...

More S.T.E.A.M. Club basketball shooters...

Check out our JES Engineers! During out second session of S.T.E.A.M. Club, our students asked questions, made observations and gathered information around how to create a basketball shooter within a team. They began by sketching a model of what they needed to create to solve the problem. They tested their contraptions multiple times to determine what didn't work and what worked best. It was really exciting to see all seven teams create something totally different. Great job everyone and we look forward to seeing you next week for peep parachutes and egg launchers!

More Pancakes and Pajamas Photos...

Pancakes and Pajamas! Thank you to all of our families for attending our third morning parent academy. Families enjoyed a great breakfast while learning about the 9 Most Important Minutes. This includes the first 3 minutes when your child awakes in the morning, the three minutes after they get home from school, and the three minutes before they go to bed.

Our 6th graders are strummin' a good time! Mrs. Jacobs has just begun her ukulele unit and WOW, they are doing great! Music instruction does so much for educating the whole child. Not only does it build a love for music, it improves memory, math and literacy skills and attention.

More dragon's eyes...

Check out these amazing art projects! We want to give a HUGE shout-out to our 4th grade teacher's mom, Patty Auernhamer who has come in this school year to share her incredible artistic talents with all of our students. This past week, our students created Dragon's Eyes - so beautiful!

We are so proud of our Junior High Honor Roll Students! Congratulations!
