First and second grade went to the Overland Trail Museum. They got a tour of many buildings, saw what it was like to be child on the plains, and pan for gold. Some loved the old conoco station, some loved milking Bella, some liked gathering eggs, and others loved the butter they made and eating it on crackers. We appreciated the parent volunteers that came as well and our bus driver, Joe Stan! Thanks so much!

Second grade completed their unit on Japan by enjoying rice and trying to use chopsticks. The students also loved the soy sauce and listening to Japanese music.
They learned many things about Japan!

Did you ever wonder what incredible things there are to see in Colorado? One of the volunteers in second grade, Mrs. Nichs, was generous enough to bring second grade students pamphlets, maps, stickers, and activity books about Colorado that she shares with people when they stop at the welcome center in Julesburg.
If you ever want to have a vacation you don't have to leave Colorado. There are so many things to do. Just ask the volunteers at the Welcome Center.
Thank you Mrs. Nichs for a great year together. You made such a difference in students' lives!

3rd grade had a lot of fun during Field Day today. A big THANK YOU to Mr. Mikelson for putting this on for us it was a great day!

Congratulations, Riley Jarrett for earning the Good News Call of the Day from Ms. Kreienheder. Here's what Ms. Kreienheder had to say, "Riley has been working so hard and diligently in English class, that she finished her essay days early. After finishing early, she immediately started peer reviewing another classmate's essay while simultaneously helping two other students with questions they had. I didn't even have the opportunity to help- Riley was on it! Thank you, Riley, for taking your success seriously and for helping others to do the same!" Way to go Riley!

May 13 was National Frog Jumping Day. In our morning announcements students were asked how many frog jumps could they safely do. Some 3rd graders took on the task of finding out during recess.

Mr. Calvadores gave Rey Graham the Good News Call of the Day. Rey kindly assisted Mr. Calvadores this morning by carrying the heavy boxes from my classroom to the storage room without Mr. Calvadores having to ask for help. Mr. Calvadores gave another Good News Call of the Day to Peyton Kizer and Rey Graham. They cleaned the mess outside the classroom together with Mr. Ortiz. We really appreciate their initiative in cleaning the mess outside to maintain our school environment clean. Way to go Rey and Peyton!

Sixth grade received another response from the letters of request they wrote back in January. This one was exciting: a student received two books and a handwritten note in response to his letter!

A few of our JH/ HS Art class students were lucky enough to get to paint a mural in one of the emergency rooms at Sterling Regional Medical Center the last couple days! A painting that would bring a little cheer! The students worked hard and it turned out great!

The Junior High Student Council hosted a Junior High Dance for all Junior High Students from Julesburg and Revere. Students dressed as their favorite Clue character. Halfway through the night a fictitious murder took place. Students had to try to figure out who the murderer was. It was a great evening! Thank you to those who planned the event and for everyone who attended.

Mrs. Ehnes and Mrs Monette gave The Good News Call of the Day to the majority of our high school students that stepped up to ensure all bases were covered as we hosted the Jr. High League Track Meet. Mackenzie Lopez & Lucas Harris provided additional assistance after lunch with the gathering and hauling of all of the lunch garbage. Kyle Brandt worked the grill the entire day without complaint. We appreciate you!!!
