🌸🦋 Our Kindergarteners and 1st graders had such a wonderful day on a short field trip! They walked to the park to learn all about migrating butterflies and got to see nature in action. The students loved exploring, asking questions, and discovering the amazing journey these butterflies take each year. A perfect mix of learning, fresh air, and fun! 🦋🌸

Today was a little different in math! Third graders had a few guest teachers who demonstrated how to find the area of combined rectangles. They discovered that by breaking larger shapes into smaller rectangles, finding the area of each, and then adding them together, they could easily solve more complex problems. Meanwhile, fifth graders, after setting some ground rules with Mr. B (Cade), worked on sharpening their division skills. They practiced dividing multi-digit numbers by two-digit divisors, pushing their problem-solving and accuracy to the next level.

Can you spot the monarchs? 🦋 Second grade walked to Thompson Park with Mrs. Nichs to see their migration up close. We learned how they use their proboscis to sip nectar and were amazed by their size and beauty! A big thank you to Officer Dakota Clark for keeping us safe along the way—we’re so grateful for our partnership with law enforcement!

The Freshman FFA members attended the BIG (Becoming Involved as a Greenland) Conference. They learned all about FFA and met other students from across Northeastern Colorado. Along with the conference, District 16 held its election for District Officers. Cooper Edson was elected District Vice President and Mackenzie Lopez was selected for the Executive Committee. Owen Harris served on the Nominating Committee. Julesburg is the only school to have 2 officers on the team.

🎃 A big thank you to Charlotte’s family for donating pumpkins from their garden! Our preschoolers loved sorting them, exploring the different textures, sizes, and learning how pumpkins grow. Charlotte was espically excited to share them with her friends-what a fun experience!🍂

📝✨ First graders are making spelling practice fun! Today, they worked on their word lists by finding them in a word search. It was the perfect mix of learning and play—eyes sharp, highlighters ready, and lots of excitement every time a word was spotted. Way to go, first graders! 🔎📚💡
