"This summer I got the opportunity to work with JHL with building the new school. I have learned a lot with working here. I was given the opportunity to learn how to operate a forklift and get certified. I learned things that I could use later in life and some valuable lessons. This company (JHL) was very welcoming and took the time to help teach us how to do new things and tell us why we had to do it. It was interesting to see how things were built and put together. From my time here it was amazing to see how fast things go. I enjoyed the work environment and the people I worked with. Going from working small house jobs with my dad to working on a school was a big difference; however, it was an easy transition thanks to my co-workers Greg, Chris, and Cole. As summer comes to an end, Julesburg’s PK-12 replacement school’s local summer help will be leaving for school and new adventures. JHL’s team can’t thank Rafe Buettenack, Liam Buettenback, Charles White, Austin Herman, and Lexi Hackbart enough for the hard work and great attitudes they brought every day. Parents of Student-Athletes: Please mark your calendars. Sports physicals will be at the Sedgwick County Health Center on July 22nd beginning at 8 am. If Sedgwick County Student-Athletes cannot attend this date, they may attend on the date designed for South Platte Students which is July 15th. Students were emailed all necessary forms. A hardcopy of these forms can be obtained from the Julesburg High School Office.
