Our 6th graders are making the most of this beautiful day! They’re heading outside with their books to enjoy the sunshine while reading about the incredible Babe Didrikson Zaharias— an inspiring athlete and trailblazer. What a perfect way to combine fresh air and learning!

“There must be provision for the child to have contact with nature; to understand and appreciate the order, the harmony and the beauty in nature" ~Maria Montessori
Mrs. Hansen's preschool class has been exploring life cycles. Teaching life cycles to preschoolers is important because it helps them to understand the natural world, develop scientific thinking skills, and appreciate the interconnectedness of living things. It also fosters curiosity, encourages observation, and helps them understand concepts like growth and change in living things.
Special shout out to JHS student Dannika Wilson for offering her talents in the form of a crocheted caterpillar and snacks! This allowed our students to participate in the story and also to retell the story on their own!

“Where On Earth is My Bagel?” was our featured story in second grade this week! To help students understand what a bagel is—and enjoy a tasty treat—they got to snack on real bagels while listening to the story.
Keep reading and keep soaring, second grade!

🌟 It's sorting time in Kindergarten! 🌈 Kids are teaming up with partners to sort objects by color, making learning interactive and fun! 🤝

Junior High Agriculture students celebrated Arbor Day by planting a tree under the guidance of Colorado State University Horticulture Specialist, Linda Langelo and Colorado Forrest Service Specialist, Valarie Nache. This beautiful Tatarian Maple tree is located at the front of the school. It will grow to be 18 feet tall and 18 feet wide. Students learned how to properly dig a hole for tree planting. They learned how to remove a tree from its container and how to prepare the roots for planting. Students learned how to place the tree in the hole and how to back fill the hole properly. We would like to thank Linda and Valarie for this valuable learning experience.

Thank you to Dannika for sharing your knowledge and expertise of crocheting with us. It was fun to learn. What a relaxing hobby. You have amazing creations!

🚀 What a fantastic lesson on teamwork! Teams of three had just 10 minutes to create the longest paper chain, and the results were impressive! 🥳 This activity highlighted the importance of communication and cooperation.

Oh, what a time we’re having in 3rd grade! This week, we embarked on an exciting unit all about time! We explored the difference between a.m. and p.m., learned about start and end times, and discovered how to calculate elapsed time. The students even figured out how to read analog clocks to the minute! 🕒

The 4th grade foresters got to replace three trees at the school on Wednesday with Sherri Brandt. She guided the students through the whole process, and they absolutely loved it!
