🎓 Semester Finals Underway at Julesburg High School! 📚
It's that time of year again—finals week! Students at Julesburg High School are diving into comprehensive semester finals this morning, testing their knowledge across the full range of subjects they've covered since the beginning of the school year. Each test lasts for one hour, with an optional 15-minute extension if needed.
It's a busy week for our students, who are juggling finals with holiday tournaments, concerts, and a variety of extracurricular activities. Sophomores kicked off their testing with Individual Career and Academic Planning and a test on “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens,” a must-read for anyone aiming for success in high school and beyond.

Happy Holidays! Family Consumer Science students had a festive time making sugar cookies and gingerbread creations. Students cut out templates, made their gingerbread dough, glued and decorated their creations. We had unique displays of a mansion, sleigh, jeep, cabin and various houses. It was a fun way to learn!
What a treat for our 6th-grade math class! Sophomore Noah joined us as a guest teacher and did an incredible job leading the lesson. The 6th graders were engaged and inspired, and Noah showed amazing teaching skills and enthusiasm for math.

Our 6th graders are diving into a novel study of Holes this week! 📚 They’re exploring the story’s themes, characters, and connections while developing critical thinking skills. To wrap it all up, we’ll end the week by watching the movie adaptation and making comparisons between the book and the film.
It’s always exciting to see students engage with literature in such a fun and meaningful way!

Today, our kindergarten classroom engaged in a fun and interactive game of Before and After to reinforce their understanding of teen numbers. This hands-on approach not only helps students grasp mathematical concepts but also fosters collaboration and communication skills.

Freshman FFA Members Shine at District Creed and Quiz Bowl Competition!
Elsie Crowder and Natalie Lanckriet represented us proudly in the Creed Speaking Competition, with Elsie earning a Gold Award and Natalie taking home a Silver Award!
Both Quiz Bowl teams also showed incredible effort, earning Bronze Awards:

Exciting learning in our third-grade classroom! Students are researching "Christmas Around the World" to create informative reports. Recently, Mrs. Monette shared her Matryoshka doll, which beautifully represents traditional Russian peasant life. This project encourages cultural awareness and appreciation among young learners.
Nothing better than hands on learning. 4th graders made lung models after reading a chapter about lung function!
Congratulations to Elliot, Archer, and Sara (not pictured) for surpassing the first-trimester goal in Accelerated Reader! Along with earning well-deserved awards, they’ve gained the ultimate reward: stronger reading skills. Outstanding work, you three!

Who says novel studies have to be boring? Our third-grade class just transformed reading "The Christmas Pig" by J.K. Rowling into an interactive discussion adventure! Using a microphone ball and buzzers, students were tossing around answers, sharing ideas, and making comprehension feel like a playful group activity. Learning doesn't always have to look like traditional worksheets - sometimes it sounds like laughter and excitement!
When Elizabeth Harris learned that a student lost his money he intended to use to purchase gifts from the Elementary Holiday Gift Shop, she offered to purchase the gifts herself. For this gracious act, Elizabeth earned the Lion PRIDE Call of the Day. Way to go Elizabeth!
