It has been a joy to begin teaching recorders to the 4th grade class! Their enthusiasm from day one has been electric. Today we practiced their stage presence as students chose from 3 different songs to perform in front of the rest of the class. The sky is the limit!

Students dove into the world of proportional reasoning through engaging computer activities! They practiced their skills by creating and identifying scale drawings. One activity provided immediate feedback, allowing students to check their answers right away! This instant response helped reinforce their learning and boost their confidence. Can you guess what the image is?

Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade played a game called meteor ball. This is one of the elementary students favorite games to play.

It was all about shadows in Mrs. Hansen's preschool class today! We started our investigation indoors, then took the fun outside for an exciting game of "shadow tag." We explored letter shadows and tried to identify animals by their shadow shape. The kids had a fantastic time learning while playing!

Today in science class, our third graders got hands-on with friction by playing table hockey! 🏒💨 They discovered how different surfaces affect the way a hockey puck glides. It was amazing to see their observations and excitement!

Eight Freshmen Ag students attended the BIG Conference at NJC. They learned all of the aspects of FFA, everything they can expect on their years as FFA members and had a little fun doing it.

Earlier this week 24 FFA member competed in the Regional Range Judging competition in New Raymer. The students surveyed and evaluated 2 ecological sites to determine their stocking rate and have to identify 30 plants. We had 3 students place in the Bronze Category. We had several students that were really close to receiving awards. Now it on to the State Competition in October.

FFA District 16 Officer interviews and selection took place during the BIG Conference held in Sterling. Congratulations to Claudia Rhoades for being elected Secretary and Cooper Edson for being elected to the Executive Council. Also, Owen Harris served as the Nominating Committee Chairman and announced the officer team during the conference.

Elementary and the seniors were working on their campaign posters for the mock election that will be coming in October.

Students are learning about noxious weeds that are in Colorado pastures and fields. We are identifying them, learning how to control them and the tremendous challenge farmers and ranchers face while trying to provide healthy food for Americans.

“Learning can be so much fun when you use your head—literally! 🎈✏️ Watch these kids practice their spelling by hitting a balloon into the air while saying each letter aloud. It’s a great way to stay active and sharp at the same time. Who knew spelling could be this exciting? 🙌 #FunLearning #SpellingChallenge #ActiveMinds”

First and Second grade are learning about facts and opinions. We played a fun game where students would listen to a statement. They would then choose if the statement was a fact or an opinion. Based on their answer, they would complete the appropriate exercise.
