We had a significant educational session for the students at Julesburg High School with Talya Honstead & Lucy Luna from the Northeastern Colorado Health Department. Their expertise in tobacco cessation highlighted the dangers of nicotine and various products, including zyn, hookahs, and vuse pods. Students took to the polls and voted for their candidate! Students had identification and took the time to consider who they thought was the best choice and the winner was Flippy the Fish!
🧩 Today, our 1st grade students dove into the world of shapes! They practiced identifying circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles and then got creative with a fun activity — making shape monsters! 👾💚 Using different combinations of these shapes, each student crafted their own unique monster, showing off their creativity and their new shape skills. The elementary students participated in the mock election. The official vote count: Flippy the Fish = 39, Tommy the Turtle = 32, Harry the Hamster = 26. Thanks to the senior government class for heading the mock election for the elementary school.

Day 5 of the National FFA Convention was packed with excitement! We started the morning with a tour of a local orchard, where we got to see a variety of apples, strawberries, and pumpkins – and even tried our hand at an apple cannon! Afterward, we made our way back to the Expo Hall to explore more businesses and colleges. Later, we cheered on our area chapters during the 5th Session’s award presentations. The day ended with an unforgettable night at the Three Hills FFA rodeo! #NationaFFA

🎶 Science in Action! 🎶 Today, our 4th graders dove into the world of sound waves, discovering how vibrations make everything from music to the hum of a bee possible. Using simple materials like tuning forks and water, they explored how sound waves travel and create vibrations we can feel and hear. 🌊👂
Their faces lit up as they watched water ripple and objects move just from the power of sound! Hands-on learning at its best – fostering curiosity and a love for science.
This week in Pre-K, we finished up our patterns unit! Using fun manipulatives, our little learners created and extended their own patterns. Plus, they enjoyed playing a number search game to identify numbers 1-5.
