Title Tip of the Month
In our third-grade classroom, students are actively engaging with the concept of forces—both pushes and pulls. They are collaboratively conducting investigations to understand the impact of balanced and unbalanced forces. This hands-on approach not only fosters critical thinking but also enhances their understanding of fundamental physics.
The Senior Government class is preparing their campaign strategies for the Mock Election that will be held in the elementary school in October.
We have had a special guest in our Ag Classes! Catie Green from CSU Extension Agency stopped by to work with students on plant identification as they prepare for the upcoming Range Judging competition. We have also had Kelly Schmidt from CSU helping identify plants. Exciting hands-on learning for our future range experts!
SFC US Army National Guard Dylan Blocksom spoke about the multitude of options the Army National Guard has to offer students that are planning their post-secondary options. Serving your country has a lot of additional benefits the students were not aware of.

5th graders finished their assignment early today so they got to do a little spiral review working in centers.
Bucket drumming had their first practice and they are off to a great start! We are so excited to offer this new experience within our music program and can't wait to show it off!
In the second grade classroom, we utilize the power of partner reading to help boost students' reading fluency and deepen their overall reading comprehension. Each week, the students are first given the opportunity to listen to the story being read aloud, allowing them to become familiar with the narrative and build their confidence before attempting to read it themselves. This initial listening lays the groundwork, giving the students a stronger foundation to work from when it comes time for them to read the story out loud with a partner. The act of partner reading is incredibly beneficial, as it enables the students to build upon their background knowledge of the text and generate new ideas and insights as they take turns reading sections aloud. This collaborative approach helps the students get so much more out of the story, as they are able to discuss and dissect the content together, gleaning a richer, more well-rounded understanding than they would be able to achieve on their own. The partner reading format also serves to increase reading fluency, as the students can lean on one another, taking turns and keeping each other engaged and on track. Overall, this multi-faceted approach - starting with a listen-through, then moving into partner reading, and finally responding to the story in writing - provides second grade students with an exceptionally effective means of boosting both their reading skills and their reading comprehension in a supportive, enriching way.
