Third Grade building fluency by partner reading and timing for one minute. They practice each day trying to beat their previous scores and reducing errors.






Fourth grade is always up for a math challenge! They have been learning how to multiply two-digit numbers using the area model or partial products method. It breaks up bigger numbers into smaller, easier to multiply numbers. It has been a great strategy for fourth grade.





Congratulations to JHS Senior Jordyn Strasser for being awarded the Presidential Scholarship from Colorado Mesa University. The scholarship award is for $5,000 a year which is automatically renewable for up to 120 credit hours.


Congratulations to JHS Senior Chris Loyd for receiving the Concordia University Academic Award Scholarship. This scholarship is offered in recognition of his high school achievements and has a value of $68,000.


Congratulations to JHS Senior Savanna Harris for being awarded the Community Scholars Commitment Scholarship from Chadron State College. This merit scholarship award is for $6,000.


Julesburg FFA students had the opportunity to attend the District Leadership Conference. The Freshman and Sophomores learned about community service and how their purposes add value to the larger picture. The Juniors and Seniors got to learn about various career opportunities while touring Amen Angus and Breindenbach Farms.


The 8th graders have been in the Ag Shop learning the basics of welding. It was intimidating at first but once they got started they loved it.






Digital Media students have been working hard to create and promote Sedgwick County athletics by designing graphics for upcoming events. They were given the added task of designing a new logo for the Sedgwick County Coroners office this week.

8th grade students worked on scenarios involving real life events to complete their worksheet on rate of change and initial value. Task Cards were dispersed around the room and students got to stretch and walk around during a week of NWEA testing!

Andrew Lyng from Northeastern Junior College came to visit the Ag classes. Mr. Lyng talked with students about the opportunities at NJC. He also discussed different careers that may interest the students.
