Happy Thanksgiving
The GT summit was a HUGE hit and it was very fortunate that we got to be a part of this up and coming future of ag. The students got to tour three different sites in Yuma. Each site discussed the future combination of technology and ag. These companies already use technology extensively and mentioned this was only the cusp of what's to come. Their hope is to use technology for efficiency, safety, and allowing employees to work from a variety of locations. All of these companies do business internationally. The opportunities are endless. One of the most important parts of the day was during lunch there was a panel of successful individuals that gave their best advice to students about their future. Students were encouraged to ask questions throughout the day as well. We would like to extend an ENORMOUS thank you to the organizers of this event, the businesses that took time to participate, and the "goodies" they gave each student. This exposure to the future possibilities with technology and ag was very eye opening. We hope it sparked student interest to continue developing new and innovative ideas for the future.

Pieces and parts was the title of our science experiment. Second grade had to label the inside and outside parts of a pen. We discussed why the materials were the best "container" on the pen and whether the material was a solid, liquid, or gas.

Home-made or store-bought? Third Grade did a blind taste test to see if they could tell the difference between a store-bought and a home-made pumpkin pie. Students observed, smelled, and tasted each sample before coming to a conclusion. They each were able to tell the correct one.

Second grade would like to thank John Lough, a veteran, for sharing his military experience with us. The students learned about rank, different military jobs, and respecting others. Thanks also to his wife Peggy for sharing about poppies and their significance. She also had the students listen to Flanders Field to help students never forget those that have served. Thank you to all veterans. We will never forget!
