A HUGE congratulations to Katelyn Reichman for receiving a $1,750 grant from the Colorado FFA Foundation. This grant will go towards her FFA Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) She plans to buy aeroponic towers to grow fresh produce for her family and community. Great work!

Congratulations to JHS Senior, Autumn Hines-Lanckriet. Autumn has been selected by Economic Literacy Colorado as the 2022 LaKay Schmidt Young Economist! She will receive a $1,000 scholarship for her winning essay.
JES Staff and Students would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to Beth Ritter and Talya Honstead of the Northeast Colorado Health Department for attending our Family Fitness Night. Also, thank you to Mechelle Beck for the picture! They came well-prepared with a lot information for our families as well as goodie bags. We appreciate your attendance and helpful resources at our event every year! They will be back later in April for our Dental Health Screenings which is an excellent service for our students. Parents, if you have not signed your children up for the screenings and would like for your child to participate in the dental screening, please call 970-474-3364 and an additional permission form will be sent home.

A huge THANK YOU to our community for showing up for the FFA Hired Hand Auction on Thursday. Due to your generosity and support, AgEd members will now have the means to engage in high-quality leadership opportunities through the year and become the best agriculturalists they can be. A special thank you to Mike Michaels and his team at Michael Auction Services for making the evening a success! The students are better for this community’s support, and they are excited to fulfill their service hours. Hope to see you for next year’s Hired Hand Auction!

Okay...who doesn't love a good smoothie, ping pong and a little scooter hockey? What a great night for families and staff at our Annual JES Family Fitness Night! Thank you to everyone who attended and to Mrs. Patterson and our amazing staff for providing a fantastic night for all!
This week we are trying out something new in third grade. We replaced the hard chairs with balance balls and added a little morning balance ball workout. What a difference it has made!
Here we go! Third and fourth grades are coming together for an art project inspired by the Abstract and Expressionist works of artist Jackson Pollock. Today students used crayons to color/draw to music from The Piano Guys. This project will take several days to complete.

Chloe is the recipient of the American Red Cross Hope Begins With You Scholarship for her coordinating efforts in our community. Last year, she was instrumental in coordinating and hosting several blood drives of which they collected 117 units. Chloe will receive a $750 scholarship.
