Things are starting to get scary! Third Graders are writing a fictional narrative that happens to be a scary story. Students selected their settings and characters, then completed a graphic organizer to help describe each one. They shared their descriptions with a partner and then decided they should combine to make one story. Just in time for Halloween to give you a frightening read.

Second grade kicked off their module on the properties of matter with an experiment trying to determine where the salt went. We put salt in paper bags and sprayed them to simulate rain/snow just like the character in our story. The big question for this module revolves around which container is appropriate for the material it contains. They are very curious to continue to learn and experiment with solids, liquids, and gases.
