Italy & Greece!

A few months ago, the Service and Leadership Team had the opportunity to paint the iconic Julesburg sign you can see on your way into town. Here are just a few members admiring their hard work!

Last Saturday, the Service and Leadership Team had the wonderful opportunity to give Sedgwick County Lumber a bright, new look! Thank you for this opportunity and your wonderful hospitality.

7th grade students have been working on a geometry project where they analyze surface area and volume. They graphed coordinate points to create shape nets to then cut and create 3D shapes.

It's Books For Baseball! We want to congratulate these students for their hard work in meeting their goal...making it to HOME BASE in our Accelerated Readers Books For Baseball Challenge. Students spent the past several months diving into great books, then taking a quick comprehension quiz over each book. These students all have earned a ticket to the Colorado Rockies STEM Day and Baseball Game on May 4th. Congratulations to all of you and we look forward to a great day in Denver. We are missing a few students in these photos due to illness but will take several photos at the game and will post those next week.

We had our final JES Coffee Talk for the year. The theme today was supporting the social/emotional and mental health of our children. NE BOCES School Social Worker and Family Support Specialist, Audree Edwards was our guest speaker and focused on supporting our children in the area of self-regulation. We would like to offer Audree a huge thank you for joining us this morning. Also, thank you to staff and parents who attended. We look forward to having breakfast with our families again next year!

Some Science fun in Kindergarten today!

Civil War puppets are a great way to review our unit in second grade. The kids had a great time remembering what each important "character" did.

A beautiful day calls for class outside! Second graders grabbed a clipboard and a pencil to draw six different plant species. Our science unit involves learning about animals and their habitats. In the beginning they focus on butterfly habitats. Butterflies have to find cover or shelter to survive. The plant varieties provide cover and food for butterflies.

Open for all Sedgwick County 7th-10th grade students! RSVP to the meeting to find out more!
