The Sophomore class earned a Pizza Party for their outstanding work on the Spring NWEA Tests.

Huge thanks to Mrs. Nichs for teaching the second graders all about the welcome center and about everything Colorado has to offer.
She brought them activity books and each of them a different pamphlet about different places to visit in Colorado. Then she told the students about each of the places on the pamphlets and where she has visited.
She really could've been a teacher. The students were captivated. We're very fortunate to have someone that volunteers so much of their time. Thanks again Mrs. Nichs and anyone can go visit the welcome center if you want ideas for summer vacations.

Kindergarten practiced subtraction today by playing Quiz,Quiz with their math partner. They also used the strategy of using fingers to help them solve the problems.

Kindergarten had some extra time today for some free exploration.

Third Grade working on their writing skills color style! Teachers were introduced to a fun way to sharpen writing skills using movement. Students chose three animals o write about. Starting with one, they wrote three sentences about that animal. Colored circles were put out the first group read a topic sentence then each circle after read one of their sentences about the first animal. This continues until three sentences were written about each animal. Building an essay fast and fun.

With the rain, it brought the worms!! With the worms, it brought worm collectors! 😊

Impacting students for the rest of their life, how lucky are we to have so many GREAT TEACHERS!

THANK YOU TEACHERS FOR MAKING A BIG DIFFERENCE FOR STUDENTS EVERYDAY!

The second grade took the science class outside to look for animals in their habitats. They each had a clipboard to record their data. It was pretty amazing to see how many we found. It was fun to question them in the moment.
"What does the animal eat?"
"Where does it get water?"
"Where does it find shelter?"
These are all things that animals need to survive in their habitat.
I also asked them why we didn't see other types of animals such as elephants and whales.

On behalf of the entire student body, the JHS Student Council would like to THANK ALL JSD TEACHERS for all the amazing things they do for students each and every day! Please join us in showing your support and thanking our teachers with your likes and comments!
