Kindergarten and 6th Grade paired up for Buddy Reads to celebrate Read Across America

The Third Grade Class is learning how they can make a meaningful difference in their local or global community. Students thought of things they can do to make a difference and decided they wanted to have an Animal Supply Drive and donate to an animal shelter. If you would like to donate to their cause please take items to the elementary school or contact Ms. Keli (Hoschouer) for other arrangements.

6th graders recently finished writing letters of request to a person or organization of their choice. One of our students received a great response from the New York Giants!

Second grade got to explore where ground water goes, where we get ground water, and how it affects our wells and reservoirs. They got to create a mock piece of land complete with animals and a well (cup) and small reservoir. Then they made it rain to show how the water flows into various areas. We then “pumped” the water out of the well to show what happens when we use water. This all relates to our science standards of how earth changes slowly and quickly over time.

The sophomores in Life Skills are learning the importance of synergy. In that lesson we explored celebrating differences. The world is a melting pot of cultures, races, religions, and ideas. Since diversity is all the way around us we learned there are three possible approaches we can take. Those three approaches include: shunning, tolerating, and celebrating diversity. In their own words these are phrases students use and have heard to identify which category others fall into.
So impressed and incredibly proud of this sophomore class . . . they simply get it!!!

JHS Art Students have been working on a project to design, and then create Cougar shirts to sell! The student body voted on their favorite design, we then transferred the designs to our screen printer, and are ready to print. We have nice Bella & Canvas T-shirts, Long-sleeve, sweaters and youth shirts available. Click the link below to order!
