Two's Day or is it Twos Day? Either way, we are having fun with the number "2". JES Students will be celebrating the totally terrific number two on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. JES Students, please come dressed in twos on Tuesday. This can be two ties, two ponytails, two different colored shoes, two hats, etc. Be creative! You can even wear a tutu! Looking forward to seeing what our creative kiddos come up with...see you on 2s Day!

The deepest need of the human heart is to be understood. This week the in Life Skills Sophomores are learning the importance of genuine listening. Listening with your ears is not enough, because only 7 percent of communication is contained in the words we use. We should be listening with our eyes, our hearts, and our ears. In this exercise the students are practicing mirroring one another’s conversations.

K-3 found hearts and had to figure out where to put them on a blank number grid with a partner from another grade level. Thanks to all the teachers and high school aids that helped to make this possible.

Second grade made 100’s Day collections. We then sorted the collections into groups of 10, 5, and 2. We figured out other ways to group to make a hundred as well. This builds number sense. Happy Hundreds Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day! Third grade celebrated by participating in a Valentine’s Day Escape Room, Who stole Cupid’s arrow? Students had to solve clues using multiplication and division, following a map, and building a bridge that would not collapse during an “earthquake “. Students enjoyed the challenge however, we still do not know who stole the arrow. They even found time for a friendly game of chess.
