Baby animals just make everyone's days better! Thank you Mr. Koberstein for sharing this experience with our students!!

The after school fitness club has had a good turnout this year. There are groups of students working on cardio, beginning weight lifting and more advanced weight lifting.

With the help of our friends from Sesame Street, Mrs. Hansen's preschool class spent the week learning about fire safety. We learned how to "Stop, Drop, Cover, and Roll" when our clothes catch fire and how to "Stay Low and Go!" when we hear the beeping of a smoke alarm. We also had a visit from the Julesburg Volunteer Fire Department. Thank you to Steven and Dakota for taking the time to share their work with our students.

A special Thank you goes out to Julesburg FFA teacher Mr. Koberstein for taking the time to introduce the 5th grade students to Hank and Larry. Students were able to ask questions and get acquainted with them. Students learned that Llamas are larger animals commonly raised for their wool, meat, and as pack animals.
Babydoll sheep, a small breed with a calm temperament, are primarily raised for their wool, which is fine and soft. They are excellent for small farms, offering high-quality fleece, grazing to control weeds, and companionship.

Pre-K had an exciting visit from the Julesburg Fire Department! They got to feel the weight of a firefighters jacket. Thank you for taking the time to educate and inspire our youngest learners.

Geometry students are working on Two Column Proofs!! Using the whiteboard is a great way for students to get hands-on experience laying out the steps of a geometric proof. They can work through the given information, statements, and reasons to logically arrive at the conclusion.

The second grade recently completed their unit on Ancient China. They explored the teachings of Confucius, created Chinese dragons, practiced writing in Chinese, and concluded with a performance assessment. For the assessment, students wrote postcards to someone of their choice, summarizing everything they had learned about Ancient China.

🐑 Our JH Ag Exploration and Animal Science classes just wrapped up an exciting unit on Sheep Management! We explored different types of sheep, their various uses, and common diseases. We even discussed the animals that protect them, like donkeys and llamas. To celebrate, we had a special visit from Hank the Babydoll Sheep and Larry the Llama! What a fun way to learn! #AgEducation #SheepManagement

Students enjoy the fresh ingredients while making pico de gallo in Family Consumer Science. We used gloves to spice it up with jalapenos.
